long ago many (if not all...) of the hot springs (and even public baths) were co-ed... yubara is a hold-out from that past, and best of all, it’s outdoors, and even bester, it’s 24hrs & free!

most of the men use a small hand towel, but it’s ok for women to wrap themselves in a bath towel (our group uses sarongs, or saris, from india--or nothing at all)...

nite is definitely funner, with a slight party atmosphere... people are either boozed up or boozing it up, including us! twice a year, in the warmer months, we camp for free in a park nearby--bonus!
